Rijk Pa, Poor Pa - Book review
A book review about one of the books that gave me the most insight in money matters is Rich Dad, Poor Dad., seems like a good place to start. But first let me get some clarity about the cover photo: I couldn't find a photo with open usage rights that I found fit the book, so I took a picture of my own piggy bank haha. Now about the book:
Daddy, how do I get rich?
The bookRich dad, poor dad (or as it is called in English:Rich dad, poor dad) is actually a super simple story, but that's exactly what makes it so super strong. The writer, Robert Kiyosaki, tells how, as a 10-year-old boy, he tried to make a plan to get rich together with his best friend. His own father has a stable job with a good income, so it seems like a good idea to ask that dad how best to make money.
Of course, the father gives advice: 'Do your best at school, then later you will get a good job with good working conditions. ' However, the guys found this sound a bit boring. And by the way, Bill Gates didn't even finish his education! And it was rich! The father didn't know what to say to this. After all, this was what he had always learned himself. However, he had another tip for the boys. Because Robert's boyfriend's father never seemed to worry about money. He dealt with it like it was a game, so he had to know it!
So the boys went to the other father: 'Do you want to teach us how to get rich? ' That father wanted to teach them fine, but only when the boys were willing to learn this directly in practice. The boys have to work for him, to learn all the pitfalls that society wants them to be trapped in.
School and Entrepreneurship
In the time the boys work for Rich Pa, of course, they just keep going to school. Poor Dad (Robert's own father) would probably never forgive them if they just stopped! However, they are beginning to see more and more differences between what they learn in school, and what they see in practice that works.
