I wrote this blog in 2010 on the occasion of the annual mouse invasion. On the occasion of the arrival of e first mice in my home this blog in the repetition.

I'm a tolerant man, but now I'm really on the warpath. I have seen it for a few weeks in the hope that they would go away again, but now the size is full. At first, I thought it was one. Not much fun, but there's a lot to live with. A few days ago, my daughter reported that they were at least two of them, and so gradually we came to the conclusion that it is a whole family. In the beginning, you only saw them occasionally and you found some crap here and there they left behind. Then they began to disturb my sleep with their running over the prosecutor's office, their squeaky conversation and their gnawing. All very annoying, but not enough to put aside my principle — live and let live —. But now they've gone too far. Now the size is full. Now I officially declared war on him. They started my chocolate!

If they want chocolate, they'll get it too. But as a one-time offer, if it's up to me. Chocolate to death follows. To win the war you have to come up with the right tactics and so I pulled out the coarse artillery and purchased for this purpose a special bar of first class milk chocolate. Of course that sounds very radical but I have tried the previous years in a nice way. In the first years I placed all kinds of animal-friendly traps and the traps were transported to an appropriate environment. But I got the impression that they were home earlier than me and had picked up some friends along the way.

Over the years, all kinds of expensive devices followed, which should produce sound waves inaudible to humans that keep the mouse people at bay. Of course, it was impossible to check whether those devices produced what they promised, but judging by the growing amount of mouse droppings, there were only two possibilities. Those things are pure money beating or my house was inhabited by a colony of utterly deaf mice.
