Rotten Meente.
A nice summer walk.
We had walked there before, the Rotty Meente . On the site of Staatsbosbeheer, I had read that the big butterfly flutters around there. Not seen then, because probably a little late in the year. So at the end of July we had the chance again and I had explored the route on the internet a bit more so we saw a lot more. Unfortunately, still not a big butterfly, but I hope it's next time. Because it's definitely going to come. When you see the photos, I think you can understand that.

The Rottige Meente is a man made area on the border of
Friesland and Overijssel. Due to the hard work of the peat plugs, we can now enjoy a special landscape, a home for the big butterfly of fire and I also read for otters who have expanded their area from the Weerribben. We parked in the parking lot of Staatbosbeheer on the N351 and were immediately welcomed by libelles who, of course, did not want to sit down.

What a beautiful view so. I couldn't choose.Â
The queenweed in the foreground. Or the pitrus.

Blue glassmaker
Suddenly we are surprised by a resting blue glass maker. Is a bit confusing, because the color is obviously green, but this is probably a female. If you don't pay attention, you'll walk past it like that, she'll blend in with her surroundings.
