Running in the Hofstad

255 more days to Lisbon and I'm excited. A long run on Thursday. The weather is fine with a rounded eight degrees and economical sunshine, little wind and good mood. Handy gloves and a distinctive hat (hey niffo) three-layered cover and a good piece of music in the ears. Tie, stand and go;
First, through the Schilderswijk at starting speed. While navigating between cars that are pre-sorted at a shocking traffic light, behind some cyclists, leave behind and reach the Statenkwartier via HMC. The work here has now stopped and the road surface has been beautified. Via the Westduinweg, past the lighthouse, up the boulevard for the traditional headwind. After the Scheveningen pier towards the center, there is still some traffic nuisance but quite fenced off. Visit Hotel Oranje and the Beatrix Barracks to end up in the Haagse Bos. From there, the Lekstraat to the Binckhorst and back to Rijswijk at McDonald's.
Along the way, I only bumped into four fellow runners, all in opposite directions. The pace was fine, there was no thirst or it needs more. Remarkably busy along the beach for a weekday Thursday, a relaxing walk with my own ideas.
A surprising acceleration between 12 and 17. Of course, I'm counting on slightly faster transit times on October 8. We are then six months later and in a completely different climate. For now, just drive cool miles so that the body feels good. Rest too. do not rust naturally. Ordered new shoes for testing after returning home. One pair of training shoes and one pair of competition shoes If it's okay, I can wear my #Adidas out of the feet.
