The admonition to citizens who do not abide by the #coronaregels should be seen as a desperate act rather than a powerful and controlled crisis policy.

Rutte and his ministers went into the summer mode during the last period and have now lost their grip. This is a cause of serious concern because many of the current coronary issues require a vision and clear policy. Because of important developments that have occurred during the summer season. Such as the actual behaviour of people during the relaxation of measures and the uncooperative participation of young people in the test policy. But also the overfatigue of the healthcare staff that has not yet recovered from the first wave of infections. Not to mention the legitimate cries of many entrepreneurs who no longer know where they stand because of unclear and contradictory policies.

This says Antonie Kerstholt Economist and lawyer.
More than 35 years of practical experience in helping entrepreneurs in severe weather yielded important lessons. Like the experience rule that as advisors we could often predict at a certain statement of an entrepreneur about “going on vacation” whether the entrepreneur could save his business or not. That statement was the following: “I'm actually in need of a short vacation”. If that was said after a long time of hard work under heavy pressure and hectic, you had to beware as an advisor. After all, you knew that the heaviest part for the company and the entrepreneur had yet to come and experience also taught that important developments could take place in a seemingly quiet period. To which had to be responded quickly and adequately. On the other hand, you warmly granted the entrepreneur a relatively relaxed rest period to be able to recharge themselves properly.

The outcome of the decision to go on holiday or not, remarkably enough, often showed that those entrepreneurs who did go on holiday had finally lost their grip on their business to such an extent that bankruptcy had often become inevitable. A phenomenon that reminds me very much of the current situation regarding the coronavirus in the Netherlands.
