#education The subject of religion participates in the admiration, rejection and indifference that accompany Jesus Christ in the middle of the world. It is not strange that people who are contrary to the faith reject it. It is more worrisome that believers see in it a lesser rank subject. This makes the work of the teacher of religion encounter the obstacle of students and parents who systematically ask for a reduction in the requirement of this subject, as if the contents of it were not important in the comprehensive school education. Nor can we ignore that it has sometimes been
identified the subject of religion with the organization of certain solidarity campaigns or with the impartition of values with little reference to that which fills all existence with value, Christ.
However, when the vocational teacher in love with his profession and the student who admires himself to the contents of it are found, the beneficial results are incalculable for each other.

Religion helps us understand the culture we have inherited. Faith is at the root of many expressions of European culture. A young man will not be able to understand painting, music, sculpture, architecture, philosophy, history,
politics, folklore, traditions, language if they do not know in depth the foundations of the Catholic religion.
And the same could be said, on a more generic level, of a minimal understanding of other religions, in order to be able to look at this “global village” in which we live.

For me this matter is very important because my Catholic roots depend on here, I study in a Salesian school that since we were young instilled Catholic principles such as adoration of the virgin, celebrating Holy Week, Easter, the birth of the child God and everything that relates to Catholicism
