What is Christmas without a lovely star and a lovely Santa Claus? Right, that's why we painted and decorated wooden stars with residents of a healthcare facility. A little MDF Santa Claus is glued to the star, which, of course, was also painted by the residents themselves. A hole has been drilled in the wooden star at the top so that the star can be hung.

Do you want to make something like that now? Then, for example, you can also cut and paint the star from sturdy cardboard. The Santa Clauses were pre-milled by us from MDF, possibly also available from De Knutseljuf. ( ilse@deknutseljufnl ) But you can also simply draw them out of cardboard, color them and then cut them out, of course.

Method:

  • First paint the wooden star white. That is possible with any white paint. This way, the final color of the star looks much more beautiful!
  • Blow dry the paint for a while before painting on the final color. Then paint the Santa Claus any way you want, and blow dry it.
  • Glue the Santa Claus to the star with all purpose glue (eg by Collall).
  • Decorate the rest of the star with sequins, stickers, buttons, stars, etc.
  • Thread a nice ribbon through the star's hole and tie a button in it.
  • Optionally, stick a few ribbons side by side at the back (that's fine with all purpose glue) so that you have a kind of garland at the bottom.
