Sony has launched a nanosatellite with a remote-controlled camera. As part of the Star Sphere project, users will be able to take photos and images of the Earth, which has so far only been possible for astronauts™. The service must distinguish itself on the basis of flexibility: some control over the camera and the nanosatellite is provided.
Among other things, users will be able to change the ISO values, aperture and shutter speed as they wish. In addition, there are 16 possible orbits around the Earth to choose from, all of which have a cycle of approximately 90 minutes. In addition to the ability to “control” the satellite for a short time™, Sony also plans to work with artists - to create new creations based on the view from space.
It is not clear what rates the Japanese manufacturer will charge to provide access to Star Sphere. The service is expected to be offered in the course of this year, with the US and Japan coming first.
