Saving The World
We forget it sometimes. Everything we do or don't do, every future scenario, is ultimately decided by us. By the people who inhabit this world. We decide what to do with this world. And it's our responsibility to save this world. Or not. So this is about people and how their contributions.
An American president can change the course of a nation, but without the help of the people, all people, we will not be able to fight climate change. The people behind Earth Today have devised a way to 'buy' a square meter of nature for just 1.20 euros. This square meter is then protected. In less than two weeks, they have already protected almost 1 million square meters.
One of Earth Today's partners is Justdigging. They believe that protecting the earth and restoring nature should be as easy as picking up a shovel. Again, they want to involve all people by removing access barriers and restoring nature bottom-up.
The driving force of Justdiggit. Communication is key within Justdiggit. We use communication to increase our impact in Africa and to create global awareness about nature-based solutions. For example, we can inspire and mobilise millions of small-scale farmers and shepherds in Africa to greening their own land. A win-win. For them, and for the rest of our planet: by greening demoted land in Africa on a large scale, we can cool the earth again.
Part of fighting climate change is restoring nature. ReNature works on regenerative agriculture, collaborating with local farmers and local communities to ensure an agricultural system that is good for everyone.
