Several interesting facts about podcasts.

A podcast is a downloadable audio or video recording and is distributed using a rebroadcast-based subscription system (RSS).

In other words, it is a multimedia file that you download or watch or listen to online and you can subscribe to so that you get the news.

The first podcasts in history were recorded in 1889. Thomas Edison's invention of the phonograph allowed the recording and distribution of novels so that they could be heard rather than read.

That same year, futurist Edward Bellamy predicted that “people would end up reading with their eyes closed. They would walk around with a tiny audio player, called indispensable, that would contain all their books, newspapers and magazines.

Mothers will no longer have to snore on rainy days telling children stories to keep them away from bad companies since each child will have their own indispensable”.

A century later with the birth of the Internet, some radio programs began recording their broadcasts so that listeners could download them later (at the download speed of the time).

There were also “online radio stations” and amateurs who started producing their own audios and sharing them through their websites and blogs.
