When I was little and went to the beach I always saw boats in the distance and wondered.How did they get there? Why were they always there? What was its function. When I grew up, I discovered the SHIPPING AGENCY and finally had answers to my questions.
The shipping agencies are in charge of all those ships that we see in the distance.
The shipping agent is generally defined as the servant of the captain and the shipowner of the trip.
What does it mean to be the server?
The Shipping Agent is responsible for covering both the activities carried out by the ship, as well as the needs of its master or shipowner during his stay in a given port.
The Shipping Agent or “The Agency” as it is known in port jargon, is responsible for organizing, supervising and coordinating all aspects of the ship's visit, from quay assignment to closing accounts after sailing. It serves as the single window for the shipowner and acts as an intermediary between the ship and all activities to be carried out on land.
