Two monks and a woman

#shortstory There is a wonderful Zen teaching of two monks who were walking through the Forest on their way back to the Monastery. Both of them had taken a vow of chastity. When they decide to cross the river. They find a woman on the shore who was crying because her mother was ill, but the river was so high that she was afraid to cross it to be able to take care of her. Faced with her despair, she asks the younger monk to help her, but he refuses, claiming his vow of chastity, however, the older monk was moved by her situation and decided to help her. He told her to get on his back, and she did. Upon reaching the shore, she felt very grateful for what she wanted to kiss his hands, but he did not allow it. The two monks continued the path in silence, however, the younger one was very angry, but was keeping silence. Until his anger grew too much and he made the claim to the older monk, saying:
-You have broken your vow of chastity. And the monk asked him: - Why do you say that? –You forgot that you carried that woman in the river. The older monk, with great serenity, replied: I left it in the river, you are still carrying it. Dos monjes y una mujer.  
Existe una maravillosa enseñanza Zen de dos monjes que iban caminando por el Bosque  de regreso al Monasterio. Ambos, habìan hecho voto de castidad . Cuando deciden cruzar el río.  encuentran en la orilla  a una mujer que lloraba porque su madre estaba enferma, pero el río estaba tan crecido que le daba miedo atravesarlo para poder llegar a cuidarla.  Ante su desesperación,  pide al monje más joven que la ayude, pero éste se niega alegando su voto de castidad, sin embargo, el monje mayor, se conmovió de su situación y decidió ayudarla.  Le dijo que se montara en su espalda, y ella así lo hizo.  Al llegar a la orilla se sintió muy agradecida por lo que le quiso besar las manos, pero éste no se lo permitió.  Los dos monjes continuaron el camino en silencio, sin embargo, el más joven sentía mucho enojo, pero iba guardando silencio.  Hasta que su ira creció demasiado y le hizo el reclamo al monje mayor, diciéndole:
-Has roto tu voto de castidad.  Y el monje le preguntó: - Por qué dices eso?.  –Ya olvidaste que cargaste a esa mujer en el río. El monje mayor, con mucha serenidad le contestó: Yo la dejé en el río, tú todavía la estás cargando.  Así es el ser humano, carga sentimientos dañinos  por mucho tiempo y no tiene la fuerza ni la voluntad para soltarlos,
