The department stores used to be nicely decorated with Sinterklaas. The advertising magazines and weekly newspapers also invited you to come and watch.

Just for the shop windows, you went to town. One shop window even more beautiful than the other. Movable dolls and stuffed animals all processed in the shop window decorated in Sinterklaas style.

I will never forget it again and so sorry for the little ones of now that this is no longer there.

Inside the department stores, Pieten and Gifts hung happily in the air. A corner was arranged for the day De Goedheiligman came by to hear the children what they wanted as a gift.

At Sinterklaas on your lap you found that exciting but you were also proud if you had done it. As a reward, you got peppernuts and foams.
