Sinterklaas: the patron saint of Children
Sinterklaas, or Saint Nicholas in English, is a Dutch figure believed to bring good luck and presents to children on the eve of his feast day, Dec. 5.
He is also known as the patron saint of children and the elderly. His name comes from the Dutch word 'sint,' which means holy man or priest.
