Social networks, and their power in electoral times.
The media are no longer the only ones that control the political agenda, social networks as well as being an entertainment space, have become a public space where politics has found a place to generate debates among supporters and in the near proximity of the next election period, they have been considered as influential for this 2021 election, in addition to giving people independence to decide on which issues are of interest.
In this electoral process, they will have a fundamental role, because the world is already more digital, especially because of the pandemic and if candidates who do not strategically add their campaigns to social networks will have a less chance to achieve their political goal, this because on the account of a person despite following a party in specifically, ideas that are contrary to theirs are leaked and eventually changed their electoral preference.
The Opinion Center of the Universidad del Valle de México, conducted a poll called “Perception and behavior of Mexicans”, which aimed to know how social networks will influence the Mexico 2021 elections.
The results he showed were in the first place, 79 percent of Mexicans think social networks really influence to tilt their vote towards a party, 16 percent of them think they affect little and only five percent nothing.
