For a Live at Home broadcast by BBC presenter Jools Holland, Lianne La Havas is standing in front of a microphone in her living room in May. Rain drops on the window, the window sill might use a lick of paint. In the midst of plants, cloths, a piano, a Wurlitzer and another house organ, the British singer lets her nimble voice go full: long notes with a little vibrating at the end. It's power and lyricism about broken love in bittersweet summer rain. And also, how she feels reborn. With her bright orange blouse and her guitar high on her chest, she stands out beautifully against a sea green wall with string instruments.

“Ah yes, that video. A forced home project”, chuckles Lianne La Havas on the phone from her London apartment. “We filmed everything with a phone. And my friend was filming with a digital camera from a different angle. Once we figured out how we would do everything, it became fun.”

Song of the day, Weird Fishes.
