The fox is a small mammal that we can find in many places around the world. We know him above all as a small, redhead predator who comes to steal our chickens at night. As mentioned earlier, the red fox is far from the only species in existence. We know him that way, because this is the most common species. In addition, the red fox is the only one who lives in the wild with us.

The 'Vulpes Vulpes', or 'Red Vos', has 23 other species. Foxes descend from the Canidae family, or canids. There are 14 genera known and divided into a total of 24 species of fox. Below they are listed by gender and species with their Latin and Dutch names.
