Spices are good for you!
A little bit of spice history
Until the end of the 16th century, early 17th century, we had no knowledge of spices such as cinnamon, chili powder, cloves or Nutmeg here. That was taken by the explorers. Until then, the food here was salted and fermented to increase the shelf life. And added flavor with native herbs such as celery, sage and parsley. You can't imagine life without these tastemakers now? And these spices are good for you! On my website AloesVeranl I have 25 different herbs and spices and described what they are good for. Here I highlight 7.
The Miraculous Power of Spices
Chili powder
- All red herbs are good for your heart and blood vessels. Chili powder also contains capsaicin, which stimulates the formation of the hormone endorphin. And endorphins cause pain stimuli to be suppressed. So it's a natural pain reliever.

Cinnamon
Cinnamon has the property to deal with fungi, bacteria and too high cholesterol. Cinnamon together with honey is a powerful combination. However, do not heat the honey above 60 ℃ because that's what a lot of enzymes are lost. With a cold, a cup of tea with ginger, cinnamon and honey is highly recommended. Cinnamon is also covered by the red spices.
