Relationship Between Body And Soul

"दोहा" (Doha) means poetry of two lines, complete in all aspects.

This form of poetry is generally used to convey something subtle, something spiritual.

दोहे (Dohe) of renowned mystic Kabir became very popular, transformed the lives of many.

I have written the following couplet to make clear the relationship between "I" or "Soul" and "Body" which is nothing but a fistful of dirt.

"मैं" और "मिट्टी" का रिश्ता यूं समझिए जनाब
"मैं" से "मिट्टी" नूर है, "मिट्टी" "मैं" की नकाब

There is a very close relationship between the "soul" and the "body".

That is why a "soul" often misunderstands itself as destructible "body".

Soul provides lustre, fragrance to the body.
As soon as the soul leaves the body, the body shrivels, starts emanating foul odour.

The body, on the other hand, provides essential "covering" to the soul.
