Stolpersteine in 140 words

Do you know the principle of the stumbling stone? It is a small stone, designed by the German Gunter Demnig. In German, these stones are called Stolpersteine.

The Stolpersteine are memory stones. And not just that. It is about paying attention to the victims of the Nazi regime in World War II (Jews and others). The stones make you stumble with head and heart.

Worldwide they are now scattered. In the Netherlands, the first Stolpersteine was laid in November 2007, in Borne. On Wikipedia is a list with all the places where they can be found in our country. And there will be some more in the coming years.
