Summer in France - day 17: mountain hike 'les carnets d'Archiane'
After breakfast we will explore our new environment. You only hear the sounds of nature, otherwise it's deafening quiet. The view in the street continues to amaze us.
After lunch we drive for an hour in the direction of the mountains. There is a spicy mountain walk on our agenda. We drive to the hamlet of Archiane, south of the Vercors massif. The walk is only 5 km long, but you can count on 2h30 because of the differences in altitude.
We leave our car in the designated parking lot, just in front of the hamlet. As a non-villager, you are not allowed to enter the built-up core with the wagon. The walk is pretty well marked, if you know what to follow. A sign shows the whole route, with the marked points.
Along the hiking trail there are poles with signposts, where both distance and estimated time are indicated.
The hike starts on a fairly wide path with slight differences in altitude, but soon it becomes a big calf biter over rocks and a small road full of boulders.
