We are fully installed in our holiday home in Puichéric. After 2 days of travel we are ready to take a day off and enjoy a book and the view. This is our charming cottage:

By noon we are tired of lazing and decide to explore the area. We are at more than 2 km from the village, but we will look for it on foot.

Puichéric is also called the Venice of the Minervois. Three watercourses cross the small village. It's a blissful walk. There's a very sensible wind and there's some shade. A small watercourse, the Rigole, crosses the many vineyards in this region.

However, you also have the Canal du Midi, which connects the Mediterranean with the Atlantic Ocean. This canal was dug in the 17th century. It is 240 km long and 64 locks provide navigability along the way.
