Summertime... and the living is easy...
The low lands moan under the heat wave.
For days it's been hotter here than in the sunny south.
While hotheads choose the Belgian beaches as a boxing ring, others try to keep their heads cool.
Today, all roads to some seaside resorts have been dropped off for day tourists, after the massive battles on Belgian beaches.
Water can be avoided by corona states, so we are looking for another way of cooling in the open air: cycling...
We leave before the heat makes the day sizzling and drive to a part of Diksmuide, where we can cycle along the Yser river. You can follow the Yser to Nieuwpoort, where it flows into the North Sea.
Nieuwpoort is more than just beach. At the mouth there is a real marina and there are many hiking and cycling junctions.

But there is, by corona, also mouthmask duty. Both for cyclists and hikers.
We stop at a restaurant in the harbour, where we find a shady spot.
