Sunflower tinkering with corn
They are beautiful flowers, the sunflowers. They bloom from July to October, and the young sunflowers turn along with the sun! When the sun rises in the east, the flower volts the sun to the west, until it sets. Then the flower turns to the east again to see the sun rise again. When they grow up, they remain twisted to the east. Very special, yet? Sunflowers grow on average 1.5 to 3.5 meters high! The stem is thick and hairy, the leaves are somewhat heart-shaped and the bees love the warm nectar! Have you ever seen a sunflower? And sunflower seeds? Do you know what's made of sunseeds?

Yeah, you see it right! We made a sunflower, but not from sunflower seeds, but from corn kernels! Of course, that's different from sunflower seeds! If you make this craft with children, you can also tell about the corn plant, the corn cobs, the grains and the food that is made of it, and what is most fun for the kids: making popcorn:)

Cut the leaves and stick them around the plate

Stick the corn in the middle

Stick the stem and leaves on a piece of solid cardboard. Finally, the flower comes on top. If the glue is well dried, you can also hang the flower. For extra strength, you can spray the pasted corn grains with clear (matte) lacquer or some hairspray or smear with napkin glue lacquer.
