Transplants are still amazing, complex and ethically charged interventions.

The first was in 1954, kidney. A few years later, those of the liver and the heart followed.

Transplants challenge surgical techniques and immunology. And the morals of many who question the corporality of death and the energetic effects of organs on transplants or who deserves a second chance.

Organ donation campaigns will continue to be important.
