#ZONNEPANELEN : A solar panel or photovoltaic panel, for short, PV panel is a panel that, using photovoltaic cells in the panel, converts a part of the photons from sunlight into electricity. The solar energy collected in this way is a form of renewable energy. The capture and conversion of solar energy in this way is called sun-PV (photovoltaic cell PV). Solar panels are also used for energy generation in space and for energy generation in remote areas.

A solar panel should not be confused with a solar collector. It is based on a different principle, namely warming up a running medium, usually water.
