Taking your story to the next level — your way
You write a blog, a social media post, or something about a product or service. You didn't just write 'a piece of text', as is often said modestly, but a part of your story. And that story deserves to be told in the best way possible. I don't want to say that it has to be perfect; on the contrary! The most important thing is that your personal story comes into the world in your own unique way. How best to do that? In this blog, I'll give you some tips, and show you how to take your story to the next level.
Let's introduce: the lyricist
Just in case you thought, who are you actually? Marise Hurkmans, pleasant! 😉 I have been running my own business since 2018,
IntraTypical. That's what I do from my home in Zwolle, where I live with my husband and two cats. My mission is to put stories clear and powerful on paper, and to guide people in them and to make them more confident. Writing smooth texts and taking care of them to the last detail: that makes me really happy. But just enough about me; back to you and your personal story!
3 tips for writing down your story
1. Think carefully about what you want to tell
Every person is full of stories. About who you are, what you do, and about knowledge and skills you have gained. Do you write a business blog of course you will look for topics that match what your business is all about and what kind of services or products you offer. If you're keeping a blog by personal title, you might be more likely to find a topic that connects you with your readers.
Once you've come up with a topic, it's helpful to come up with a few subtopics that you'll go deeper into. That way, before you start writing, you'll have an idea of the layout of your text; super handy! Oh, and don't be afraid to write about a topic on which a lot of information is already available. A text you write contains information or a perspective that someone else might not have — so that's always a valuable addition.
