Both Henk-Jan and Tania I met at a performance by Tania. My first impression, two super nice and cozy people with the heart in the right place. (my first impression is always right).

Tania Kross, born in Curaçao, studied at the Utrecht Conservatory with Henny Yana Diemer. In the second year of her education she won the first prize of the Foundation Young Musical Talent. She represented the Kingdom of the Netherlands at the BBC Singer of the World Competition in Cardiff. Tania was voted the “Rising Star” of the 2004/2005 season by the Concertgebouw, giving a recital in the Small Hall of the Concertgebouw and touring the various concert halls of the world, including Paris, Salzburg, Vienna, Athens, Birmingham, Cologne and Carnegie Hall in New. York.

The singer has participated in several opera productions, including at the National Reisopera, the Hamburgische Staatsoper and at the Staatsopera Hannover. In 2007 she was heard during the Dutch Muziekdagen with a piece performed with the Metropole Orkest. Tania Kross made his debut in February 2007 with the Staatsoper Stuttgart in the role of Carmen. Since 2006, she has her own festival “Krossin' Gouda” in museum Gouda, where various art disciplines meet. In 2008, she played Carmen at the annual opera festival in Glyndebourne.

Tania Kross is Ambassador of Music Counts! , an initiative of Muziekcentrum Nederland, the Fund for Cultural Participation and Kunstfactor to “bring more music to the lives of children”.

In 2012 she sang at the Gouden Televizier-Ring Gala. She was featured in 2013 as one of the candidates of the AVRO program Whose is de Mol?. In September 2014, Kross Mine Own King Am I performed at the national commemorative concert The Bridge to Liberation in Arnhem.

On 1 April 2015 she was appointed a member of the Academy of Arts. On 21 February 2016 she replaced violinist Isabelle van Cologne in the jury of Maestro, because he was too busy to judge this episode. She also sang in this programme as a soloist in episode 4, and in 2017 she participated in the programme Best Singers, the first opera singer ever. Together with musicalactor Tommie Christiaan, Kross won the first place in the iTunes list, with the song Barcelona. In 2019, Kross was featured in the RTL 4 show The Masked Singer, in which she entered the singing competition masked as Robot. She made the final and came out of the battle as the winner.
