Terracotta elephant pimping with paint, mosaic stones and Foam Clay

Once upon a time, there was a white terracotta elephant. He stood in the hobby shop, next to all the other elephants, turtles, doggies and other animals. They all had something in common: there was a groove On their backs! You guessed it, there were all kinds of whitepiggy box animals waiting for a buyer. Waiting for them to be decorated, on top beautiful, and then on a small board were allowed to show off. And.. Preferably, with a little nicely stuffed belly.

Terracotta is a beautiful surface for painting with Acrylic paint. Also because the surface is white, it usually comes out nicely from any paint. Just painting with one color I found a bit boring, so I grabbed my mosaic stones. It's acrylic (plastic) rhinestones of 1cm, ideal for children! This is because they have no sharp edges, are not too heavy and so stay comfortable wherever you stick them.

The numbers I pasted with foam letters. Then I filled the rug with self-hardening clay with small balls in it, yes, the popular Foam Clay. It is available in many fun colors. With waterproof marker I still drew ragged pieces on the rug and nails, but of course I don't have to.
So this elephant is lucky, he's in my closet.. Completely decorated, as a real piggy bank would wish. Alone.. His tummy may be a little fuller... But for that he'll have to be patient, don't you think?
Tip: give a (self-decorated) piggy bank as Wedding gift, maternity gift or birthday gift! You can mention the name, or the date of the party, or the amount for which the person is saving, etc.. Tasty personal!
