Thankful!!!

A special gesture from an extraordinary woman.

Sometimes you meet people who touch you without ever meeting them.
She is one such woman: a powerful soul who, despite everything she and her husband have been through, continues to fight, chapeau, how good!

In the spring, she was diagnosed with a rapidly growing malignant brain tumor, it came as a thief in the night.
Emergency surgery followed, as well as a tough course of radiation and chemotherapy, who would have expected that anyway.

Although she's still recovering, with a left leg that doesn't quite want me and a constant tiredness, she remains thankful that she's still here.
Meanwhile, she also takes care of her husband, who has vascular dementia, more and more it's getting harder, more and more things are going wrong.

Their life is anything but easy, but so beautiful, she stays hopeful, she doesn't give up, she keeps fighting.
And do you know what also makes her so special?
Despite her own challenges, she continues to look out for others, such as the Salvation Army, and she even made me happy.

She read my collections and was touched by the words I share, words that come from my own experiences, including my battle with breast cancer, loss of life and the effects of Long Covid: every day I have to experience this, every day I have to feel this.
She found comfort and recognition in my poems and decided to express her gratitude through a financial contribution; I'd love to cuddle up thanking her now.

Indeed, her gift came at a special time.

Earlier that week, I received another donation for a project I've been working on, which gave me the push to make plans for something I've been dreaming of for a long time: a small recording studio in my home.
With her support, I felt even more confident in making that dream come true, if I record something now; does it sound like in a bathroom and then with a lot of noise.

This way, I can continue my mission to spread hope, support and understanding through poetry and music and reach even more people.
For me, her contribution does not only mean something financially, but above all a sign of trust and recognition for my work, a mission that I no longer want to give way to.

I tried this, really, I started reading, puzzling, exercising and much, much more.
But a life without writing, without singing, no for me, never again!

So I love sharing her story, without mentioning her name.
I have to praise the strength and love she exudes.

It's a wonderful example of how, even in difficult times, we can inspire and support others.
And that's why I say: “Thank you, powerful woman, for your trust and for letting me lean against you for a while”
