The Arboretum in Kalmthout is busy

It's nighttime and in the Kalmthout Arboretum, all the leprechauns are preparing a great Christmas party. The elves are also invited. Just before Christmas night, a huge table is set up in a clearing in the domain. The leprechauns are very happy in the beautiful place where they stay with the wide variety of trees, bushes and flowers. Nowhere would they have such a good time.
The domain also often offers tours explaining nature and the birds that stay there. Often, the leprechauns then secretly listen in. So they have already learned a lot from it.
Because it is now much colder than in the summer, the leprechauns live in hollow tree trunks instead of. in mushrooms. After all, the tree trunk protects them well from the cold.
They also have furniture. That's what leprechaun Timmer takes care of. It is very handy and makes the furniture according to the image that the interested parties depict.
There are also many leprechauns, both men and women, who can prepare very tasty meals.
They are now busy collecting the necessary ingredients.
Other leprechauns hang string lights everywhere.
Others are busy decorating a huge pine tree at the Arboretum.
Rudy Siedlecki gave them tiny bonsai Christmas trees as a gift. They also want to decorate these beautifully. Every family does its original best to do so.
Rudy is a welcome guest by the leprechauns because he keeps nature in the Arboretum, together with others, in such a perfect order.
It's just about the only person in the Arboretum that the leprechauns aren't afraid of anymore. Because, in general, that's what they are. Very shy. That's why you rarely see them or just in a glimpse.
For Rudy, they do make an exception. Sometimes when he's busy in nature, a leprechaun female or male brings him a hot bowl of soup or a piece of cake.
At the Arboretum, I personally went to admire the Bonsai Club's Bonsai trees. They were, each and every one of them, beautiful.
Such a mini tree is therefore always a feast for the eyes. It is so beautifully brought into an artistic natural form.
I enjoyed seeing all these beautiful trees and was still in the “happy mood” when I stepped outside.
I was almost shocked at the time. A leprechaun almost stumbled over my leg and immediately slipped between a bush.
“Hey, Leprechaun”, I said, don't be afraid of me, though! I love seeing the leprechauns. How is your name? Mine is Danielle”
From under the bush, the little leprechaun then reappeared.
“I'm a leprechaun Bolleboos”, he said, “Actually, I don't have much time. We are preparing for the Christmas party and there is still a lot to do. But because you're such a friendly person, I'd like to wear my Christmas outfit for you. Will you wait a minute? I'll be back soon.
Then you can send my photo to everyone before Christmas to wish them a happy, peaceful Christmas.
So I waited. Because you don't see something like that every day either.
And that's where he already appeared. On his head was a nice Merry Christmas hat and he was holding a card with three hearts on it.
I quickly took a photo. Wished the leprechaun and his group of leprechauns a very merry Christmas and then he was gone again.
Before disappearing under the bush, he waved goodbye with his best smile on his face.
Punishingly enough, it had just started snowing when I took the photo. It looked like the leprechaun had conjured it up with a magic trick.
A white Christmas. Actually, I dream about that. Then everything is so poetically beautiful. A thick white box that covers everything and in between, beautiful white trees with branches as lace.
Then the children can make a huge snowman with a carrot as nose, beechnuts as a mouth and pitch black stones as eyes. And on top of that, a silly hat.
