The large number of diving areas can be a big challenge to choose one to go for a short vacation, so we will guide you here in the best way about the most important dive sites in Curaçao.

Watamula
Derived from the Dutch word “water mill" meaning water mill, this dive site is popularly known for the many currents that sometimes flow in a circle, which lives up to its name. This is a favorite place for locals and tourists and is often considered the bee queen of diving in Curaçao. This site is home to migratory fish, parrotfish, stingrays and turtles, and vast fields of pristine hard coral mixed with soft corals and giant sponges.

Superior Producer

The most popular wreck for diving in the Dutch Caribbean, the Superior Producer, sank in September 1977. The ship lies quietly upright on the keel, under 30 meters of water. The stately, massive structure of 30 meters now serves as an artificial reef site inhabited by countless colonies and species of gorgons, corals, sponges and seawepes.

The diving here is compared by many people to “going through the rabbit hole". Divers have described that the experience should become smaller and smaller as the coral formations rise and grow larger as you descend. Turtles, eagle rays, boga fish and yellowfin tuna are often seen in this place.

Snake Bay
Despite what the name suggests, this dive site is not a home for snakes, but rather for a large number of morals and morals. Happy divers have seen green sea turtles and elves among swarms of Creole and blue doctor's fish, sea lettuce and various kinds of cleaning shrimp.

The tug

This popular destination for divers and snorkelers is just 5 metres deep and takes its name literally from the tug that accidentally sunk some thirty years ago. It is now covered with tubular coral sponges and is home to fascinating blue parrotfish and yellowtail snapper.

Mushroom Forest
The Mushroom Forest, often named Curacao's number one dive site, owes its name to the mushroom-shaped hard coral formation that houses an abundance of marine life. The coral heads are eroded at their base by natural factors and have formed narrow columns similar to the shape of fungi and function as perfect shelters for the little creatures of the marine reefs.
