The Biggest Mistake Of My Life: Why You Should Never Go Shopping Hungry
So naturally, my first thought was to head to the grocery store to stock up on some bottled water and maybe get myself a small snack. And that, my friends, was where it all went wrong...
Empty stomach, full cart
You see, I made the rookie mistake of going grocery shopping on an empty stomach. And let me tell you, that was a recipe for disaster. As soon as I walked through the doors, my senses were overwhelmed by the sight and smell of all the delicious food on offer. I mean, who could resist the siren call of fresh bread, hot coffee, and that rack of ribs staring right at me? Before I knew it, I was filling up my cart with all sorts of goodies.
There were chips of every flavor and brand, cookies in every shape and size, and cereals that promised to make me healthier, smarter, and more attractive (okay, maybe not that last part, but you get the idea).

I tried to be somewhat sensible at first, telling myself that I only needed a few things for breakfast and snacks. But then I saw the buy-one-get-one-free deal on my favorite brand of chips and, well, all bets were off.
Before I knew it, my cart was overflowing with enough junk food to feed a small army. I had enough cookies to last me a month, enough chips to last me a year, and enough cereal to feed a family of five (which, let's face it, I would probably end up eating all by myself).
But the worst part was yet to come.
