In a 2009 study, Dr. Juliet Zhu found that blue suggests “knowledge, power, integrity and seriousness. It evokes a sense of calm while stimulating creativity”.
Women who wear red, on the other hand, are perceived differently. In fact, men claim to be more sexually attracted to women in red clothes and lipstick. Similarly, a study at the University of Rochester found waitresses wearing red lipstick earned higher tips than those who did not use that color.. Women perceive other women dressed in red as a threat, perhaps because this color is very tied to sexual attraction and provocation. Psychology about this color is based, for both sexes, on biological issues.
