The confluence of the Rio Negro with the Rio Solimoes
The Rio Negro and the Rio Solimoes have different water compositions.
In the city of Manaus in Brazil, they flow together. But they do not mix immediately and walk several kilometers side by side. You can see their differences by the different colors they show separately
The Rio Negro
The Rio Negro flows slowly and is dark in color. This is due to the humunous water caused by the decomposition of organic material. The water is also warmer than the Rio Silimoes and usually has a temperature of 28 degrees Celsius.
