The Cradle of Makeup

Eyelining, for example, was used by men and women , as it protected them from the conjunctivitis . This product was obtained by grinding galena and depending on the degree of crushing, different shades were obtained.
This was what was called Kohl and applied with a small stick, like a brush, around the eye area. This pigment was also used on eyebrows for thicken them and define them.

Interesting information. Thanks for sharing. I did not know the sanitary aspect of eye makeup in Ancient Egypt.I always thought that this art responded to a purely cultural practice, but I see that it also responded to health reasons.
