At 12 noon on Wednesday before Thursday in Corpus Christi, the bell ringing of the church of San Francisco de Yare, in Miranda state, announces that religious festivities begin.

What are Los Diablos Danzantes?
The Dance Devils are a religious holiday celebrated in San Francisco de Yare, Miranda - Venezuelal State on the day of Corpus Christi, carried out by the β€œSocieties of the Blessed Sacrament”.

Its origin dates back to the 18th century, this being the oldest brotherhood in the continent, the promeseros dressed as devils perform dances around and are located in front of the church, where there is a kind of struggle between devils and custody.
Finally, the devils surrender to the Blessed Sacrament and kneel in a sign of submission, thereby representing the victory of good over evil.
Devils walk the streets, dressed in red and in masks, dancing to the rhythm of a corrio and when they are before the altar or surrender in a sign of respect, they dance to the rhythm of bamba, which is a more reverential touch and drums.

The celebration ends when at the end of the afternoon the church bells ring and the brotherhood is scattered until next year, when they will again represent this rite where good must prevail over evil.
This celebration is held every year, is enjoyed as a family and is a party of lots of dance and tradition.
