#retro

When it comes to retro and vintage, we often use these terms interchangeably, and rightly so, for what exactly is the difference between the two? Actually it is not difficult at all, the difference lies in the authenticity of the product. All original pieces produced between 1950 and 1980 are vintage. However, when new products are manufactured based on an old model and/or an old style, we speak of retro.

Clothing and accessories...

When I was younger, I loved browsing through my grandmother's 1950s dresses, and her personal fabric atelier was a room full of valuable treasures for me. Original fabrics, beautiful buttons, faded yarn on wooden spools and paper-wrapped needles were a creative person's paradise. It will therefore not surprise you that I still have a large part of these treasures in my possession. Gloves, hats, decorative pins and handbags were also carefully preserved in this workshop. So all the things I still own are vintage. But when I look at my own flared polka-dot skirts with petticoats, they are retro garments because they are made now, but in the style of the past.
