Do you remember your first CD?

Today 41 years ago, 17 August 1979, the first CD was made at the Philips factory in Langenhagen (Germany).
On this CD there is a test recording of Beethoven's 12th symphony.

The first CD of which it was intended to release was Abba's album 'The visitor'. Yet this CD only appeared on August 17, 1982 in Japan, where the CD players came on the market in the same year.
The first commercial CD sold in Japan was Billy Joel's '52nd street' album.
Doe but was the 1st Dutch group of which a CD was released.

The CD and CD player is not immediately a success. Only when the British band Dire straits releases their album 'Money for nothing' in 1983 does the real breakthrough take place of CD and CD player.

I can't remember which CD was my first. I do know that I often went to the record store to listen to new CDs and that it was a party when a new CD was released by a band/artist you were waiting for or to discover new music.
