The Gentian Butterfly
To find a suitable place to deposit its eggs, the Gentian butterfly flutters close to the vegetation.Large or small flower buds are preferred. They usually deposit two eggs. But in case of bad weather, there can be more.
They prefer the buds of the large gentian flower. But when they are full, they choose other flower buds.
The caterpillar
As soon as the not-so-pretty brown caterpillar wriggles out of the egg, she immediately starts eating the soft parts of the flower bud.
