The kiwi berry — also known as mini kiwi — is a remarkable fruit that has been appearing more and more often in our shops and gardens in recent years. At first glance, it may look like a grape, but if you try one, you will soon discover that this little fruit has a surprisingly fresh kiwi flavour. How does kiwi berry grow?

The kiwi berry grows on a Creeper which belongs to the same family as the common kiwi: the Actinidia family . In contrast to the big kiwi (Actinidia deliciosa), the kiwi berry grows on the species Actinidia arguta .
This plant is winter-hardy , which means that it is resistant to cold and can therefore grow well in our climate. The kiwi berry vine can grow considerably - up to 5 to 6 meters long - and needs a sturdy structure or pergola to attach itself to.

In spring, small white flowers appear that attract pollination (often by bees). In late summer to early autumn (August—September), the fruits ripen and can be harvested.
