If you hope to be able to see the inside of this mosque as a tourist, you will be deceived, you used to be able to visit them. I get it, the vast majority of tourists have absolutely no respect for Islam, wear shorts or bikini tops, be noisy, hang on walls, sit on historical sculptures, leave waste where it doesn't belong,. so why still open your place of worship, which is also in use and where Muslims come to pray?

Around 1150, construction began on what would eventually become the largest mosque in Marrakech.

The tower, called a minaret, is 69 meters high. Six floors are connected by an ascending gallery around a room each.

There are 4 copper balls on top of the roof, but according to legend, they are made of pure gold and there were originally only 3 until Yaqub al-Mansur's wife donated the fourth as compensation for her failure to fast even one day during Ramadan.

She would have had her gold jewelry melted down to make it into the fourth sphere.
