The Leerorkest is 15 years old, a milestone!

The Leerorkest is 15 years old, a milestone! Despite the corona restrictions we have been able to put together a very nice program for the lustrum opening on Wednesday 17 June. Everyone can watch the live stream broadcast by Het Concertgebouw, NPO Radio 4 and the Leerorkest. The evening before, the Leerorkest together with the minister will be on show at Time voor Max on NPO1.

The Leerorkest opens lustrum from the Concertgebouw on 17 June together with top musicians, alderman of Amsterdam and minister. In fact, on 17 June a large lustrum concert was planned in Het Concertgebouw, with 500 children on stage, singing and playing with the Dutch Philharmonic Orchestra and more top musicians. Because of the corona measures, that's been postponed to next year. The alternative is no less about it. The same top musicians are participating in a surprising and festive lustrum opening that is broadcast via a live stream. Are you guys watching? Wednesday 17 June, from 16:00 to 16:30. Don't miss the Grande Finale!

Dieuwertje Blok and Leerorkest-founder Marco de Souza open the broadcast from Het Concertgebouw. On the programme are then musical performances by opera singer @Tania Kross , harpist Remy van Kesteren with musicians from the Dutch Philharmonic Orchestra |Dutch Chamber Orchestra, and the Dudok Quartet. The children participate thanks to a special connection with the districts where they play music. There is a high-profile Grande Finale in which, thanks to special recordings, all musicians and children are united, in a grand lustrum song. Freek de Jonge wrote the text for us.
