THE Lily CROUTING: Is that so healthy?
#LELIETEELT 😍 Friday evening (4-9-2020) I took the picture below with my smartphone (strongly zoomed in, thus loss of quality); #Westerveld it is a much discussed topic: The Foundation #Bollenboos consists of citizens from the municipality of Westerveld who are concerned about the adverse effects of lily cultivation in Drenthe. Stichting Bollenboos wants more people to realize that growing lily bulbs can pose risks to health and pose a threat to the environment and the landscape. Stichting Bollenboos urges the municipality of Westerveld and the province to take measures to improve the growth of the #milieubelastende to prevent lily cultivation and reduce its adverse effects.
However: With about 5,000 hectares, the lily after the tulip in surface is the second bulbous crop in the Netherlands. In economic terms, the lily is even the number one!
