The little angel of Amparo
In Maracaibo De noches you look towards Amparo and you can see the little angel. The Angel of Amparo is an emblematic figure about 120 meters high that for more than 40 years has represented the arrival of Christmas in the city of Maracaibo, since it is seen from various points of the entity, dressed in about 1,800 11-watt saving light bulbs.
In December 1973, the Angel of Amparo made its appearance, causing great admiration among the marabines; at that time it had colored lights and could only be seen from the north and south, while at the other two points it was only perceived as a line of light without a definite figure.
For Christmas 1975, its creator Isauro Valbuena was in charge of modifying the angel's design giving it a three-dimensional appearance so that it could be appreciated from all the winds of the city, in addition to this he created a new suit completely transparent and composed of more than one thousand 800 bulbs, which allows it to be observed from any city site.
