Have you ever looked through a microscope? It is a handy device that helps you to view very little things. If you can not see it with the naked eye or with a magnifying glass, use a microscope.

It has a tube that contains several magnifying lenses. The front lens enlarges the little thing you want to see, the next one enlarges that image and the third lens enlarges that image again. For example, you can view cells of plants, animals and even bacteria from very close!

The little thing you want to watch is called specimen. You put that on a very thin glass first. That must be very thin, so that the light can still pass from below. Then place the glass with the specimen on the object table (the shelf with a hole) so that the slide also gets light from below.
