The Mirror Peak

#history The number one tourist attraction in Mérida is undoubtedly climbing the Peak. This is one of the highest places in Venezuela, at 4,765 meters above sea level, in the Andes mountain range.

Thanks to the cable car system in a few minutes you can reach the top, but during the tour you will see the Sierra de La Culata, the city of Mérida, the Chama River Valley and the snowy mountains. This cable car is the highest in the world at 4,765 meters above sea level, the longest in America at 125 kilometers, and the second longest on the planet, after Östräsk, in Sweden.

The peak of Pico Espejo is an incredible place. It is often shrouded in fog, strong winds and snowfall, although other times it is sunny and clear. The views leave you breathless, it's like you're touching the clouds and you have the infinite horizon at your fingertips. The way to climb the immense Pico Espejo is through the Mukumbarí Cable Car System. It receives this name from the indigenous language, which means place where the sun sleeps and refers to what the indigenous people called the Sierra Nevada.

The Pico Espejo cable car system was renewed and restarted operations in 2016, classified as one of the most modern in the world.
