It was quite a discussion point! Miss Ank van De Luizenmama talked about the teaching method in the sixth episode (spring 2018) of De Luizenmoeder Learn Safely from Zwijssen Publishers . This method looks at the reading of all group 3 children, and they are then divided into groups: star, moon, rocket or sun.

The differences in reading be, by means of. this method, now very clear. Dutch people have different opinions about this method. Children (and parents) may be disappointed that you are a moon, and not a sun. One thinks your child is being put in a booth. And the other person thinks you should learn how to deal with those differences. And many more are mentioned for and cons.  What do you think about it?

The Moon: The children with this approach follow the method according to the usual way. This group is often the biggest!

Most children who go to 3rd grade are well prepared to learn how to read. They already know about 12 letters. They have already been offered in group 2, including the letter wall. The children in group 2 have also learned how to chop and stick. The kids are able to put words like tree house together as a tree house. But also ka-bou-ter. They also learned how to chop and paste simple words like forest. So the word b-o-s gets angry. They have already learned how to stamp in kindergarten.

The Star : The kids with this approach need something extra to achieve sufficient performance.
