Real 'intact' ruins are rare in the Netherlands. Ruine De Nijenbeek, located on estate De Poll in Voorst, is a wonderful example. The historical remains form an inseparable unity with the surrounding IJssell landscape.

The first thing to notice when visiting De Nijenbeek is the tranquil beauty of landscape and ruin. You hear, feel, see and smell the nature in which the building is anchored. The ruin itself evokes a history of centuries. Evented centuries; the heavy scars from the Second World War are still clearly visible and make history felt. It puts your imagination to work.

In 2015 the ruin De Nijenbeek was consolidated at Landgoed de Poll. Many dozens of craftsmen have worked with great love and craftsmanship to consolidate the Nijenbeek for more than one year, day in and day out.
