The Nepthenis or cup plant is found in tropical rainforests.

They can bloom low on the ground or dangle from sturdy stems. They can also settle on the bark of trees as climbing plants.

Their food consists of insects. Some manage to get small mammals like mice into their cups.

The inside of their cups is lined with glands from which nectar drips.
